What to Expect at Your Orthodontic Consultation

Dr. Tun will first spend time talking with you about your oral health, medical and dental history, and treatment goals, and answering all of your questions.

Next, we will take radiographs (digital X-rays) and photographs to aid in diagnosis. Dr. Tun will assess your records and determine a treatment plan. She’ll then present to you her findings, pointing out areas of concern, and then she’ll explain the treatment recommendation.

Dr. Tun will talk about the type of braces and adjunct therapies you need, as well as the treatment timeline. Next, you’ll meet with our financial coordinator to learn about the cost of orthodontic treatment, what your insurance will cover, and financing options.

Your Insurance May Pay a Portion of the Cost of Braces

We are in-network with many PPO dental plans. There are many benefits to choosing an in-network provider. Examples of choosing an in- versus out-of-network provider are featured below. If you have questions, don’t hesitate to call our financial coordinator at 832-699-3683.

Insurance Discount

You can enjoy a PPO insurance discount, in addition to your lifetime maximum orthodontic benefits, if you choose an in-network provider. This means that your out-of-pocket expense for treatment will be less.

Full Payment Discounts

Pay your complete balance due, after insurance, and receive a 3% discount. Patients who pay cash without insurance can receive up to a 20% discount on the total treatment plan.

We accept most major credit cards, as well as FSA and HSA payments.

Maximum Benefits

With an in-network provider, you can enjoy maximum insurance benefits. Some insurance plans have different levels of benefits that depend upon whether the provider is in-network. For instance, some Delta Dental plans pay a higher lifetime maximum benefit for orthodontic treatment when patients choose an in-network provider.

Financing Your Orthodontic Treatment

The cost of braces at our Tomball orthodontic office range from $4000 to $6000, in most cases. Most patients pay about $4500, and we offer a no-interest, no-fee payment plan.

You’ll pay about $500-$1000 to start, then a monthly payment. The monthly payment will be your balance after the deposit, divided into 12 or 18 payments. We require an auto-draft from your bank, set up on a recurring monthly schedule.
